any CA peeps in here? All of this is exhausting but I keep my faith in God and all these wonderful Anons out there. Praying for all of you all the time. We got to get together and do as much as we can. I concentrate on the lovely Anons and ignore the sleeping snakes...as best I can.

Please consider at least washing out your fizzy drink bottles and filling them with tap water. Buy a solid long handled claw hammer for defense if you can't own a gun. Find or buy some candles and matches and get some extra cans of baked beans, chili con carne, stews and soups when you're next at the grocery store and perhaps some ramen and a bag of rice. None of this will cost you much.
A $20 portable gas camping stove and 2 x $1 gas refills (each burns at high flame for 80 minutes) will provide two weeks worth of hot meals for your family. Combine 50g of dry rice and 100g of cold water in a pot, cover, boil at full flame and immediately reduce to 10% flame. Simmer for 16 minutes and remove from heat. Allow to sit and finish cooking for 10 minutes without removing the lid. This will give you restaurant quality rice using less than three minutes of high fame.
Even if you don't care about SHTF scenarios, it's nice to have some supplies in case of normal power failures.
I agree. I got a generator. I will take your advice on the food. I especially like the hammer part. I have a gas camper stove for the beach. SHTF?
