Consciousness is primary to energy systems; it is a quality of mind. It is more a communication bridge between matter (physical energy) and spirit, unifying that which is becoming with that which IS.
You know how water does not rise higher than it’s source, and you also know The Source — even the First Center and Source of all Things, the highest source — is already available for you to know and grow towards, which you might think of as raising your consciousness. Jesus was not limited by the level of development of the planet — He overcame the flesh.
But the earth does go through spiritual epochs. These are orchestrated by celestial authorities not chance planetary alignments. And it’s not facilitated by ‘aliens’ — fellow mortals from other inhabited spheres or dependent on human conscious desire or will.
We do stand at the doorstep of an age where we will, at some point, reunite our consciousness with the eternal universe — to be as cosmic citizens. It does not involve physical “upgrade” (evolved DNA), receiving special powers of thought, it involves work — we must do the work of improving our quality of thinking.
That means reorganizing how we think, correcting our perceptions, reconsidering the decisions of time-space in terms of their potential meaning and significance for the eternal universe. Who could grasp the scope and scale, or be responsible for such potential impact except by being in harmony with the Creator of it all? It means we can be truly moral beings even as we are in an imperfect state, making progress by securing our foundations on those things that are of enduring value.
That Jesus will return at some point is certain. His return will be “in His full Power and Glory.” Not as a man. There’s no promise, however, that His return is an essential requirement for us to learn and grow, to become truly peace-loving and service-minded.
“Christ Consciousness,” if you mean to achieve what Jesus did as a human being — unifying His human will with the Will of God, does not come as a byproduct of an advancing spiritual age. It comes as it did for Jesus, by loyal and unbroken seeking even in his smallest desire, and doing the Father’s Will. But Jesus was not an ascendant creature as we are; He was Son of God before He was Son of Man. He originates in Eternity whereas we are born in Time.
