Our ANZACS would be mortified at the tyranny of our government and would stand with Australians fighting for our freedoms today. In a few days we Commemorate their bravery on ANZAC DAY. My Great Uncle is buried on Gallipoli. The British used our ANZACS as decoys as the Brits landed safely down the Dardanelles Peninsula. Our ANZACS never stood a chance. They were mowed down by the Turks as they got out of their boats and had to climb a sand embankment that went vertically up to where the enemy was positioned and firing down on them. My Uncle landed on the 11th May and died during a fierce battle at The Nek on 15th May. I grew in your memory a beautiful rose named ‘Gallipoli’ Uncle Stan which is in full bloom atm and is a reminder of your love of country and her freedoms. I shall pick a bunch and lay them at the Cenotaph and make this promise that I too will fight this tyranny on our soil as long as I live. Thank you for your service Uncle Stan. Lest We Forget.
