that's society's fault, women are MADE for this, and can do it. problem is they are not being taught correctly anymore and instead are doing things that sabatage their supply due to bad advice from the medical industry. get in the extended breastfeeding groups and these ladies can help guide women to build and keep their supply as long as they want.
There are also women who just have problems with supply for other reasons.

Surprisingly less rare than you think. My sister in law is a lactation consultant at our church who works with new parents, she is also a dula. She'll see about 10-15 women a year who just have no supply due to medical issues or other problems. She probably sees 100-200 women a year, so 5-10%. These are women who are trying their best and are definitely not sabotaging their own supply in any way. Some women have issues with their nipple shape or amount of glandular tissue. Some women have PCOS or took birth control for too long or started it when they were too young and didn't know any better.
There are many reasons out there.
I'm aware of all this which is why I've said medical intervention, and bad advice to women is the main cause of these issues. Again, there are things that can be done but people IN THE INDUSTRY aren't giving out all the best advice to women, which is why I keep saying find an extended breastfeeding group for advice. Those groups are filled with women who've had these problems and have overcome them thanks to the advice of mostly outside the US women. Honestly, women inside the US are the most undereducated when it comes to this BECAUSE THE PROFESSIONALS WERE NOT EDUCATED PROPERLY.
