This is the part that confuses me.

I’m assuming they didn’t just let kids go on this excursion alone/that the parents went to the island reef with them.

So did you sign up for the cruise and the excursion as part of some sick ritual? Did you need a special code to book the excursion to the island?

Or did they sneak kids off the boat when people were distracted by the reef/fish so people didn’t notice?
