Maybe this is my cynical side talking, but in a capitalist economy like the US someone would come along, take all the fruit, and sell it at a local fruit stand for profit. Unfortunately, something like this could only function in a more homogeneous egalitarian society such as Norway...

(side note - I've spent time in Norway, and that country functions 1000% better than the US in every way. People are happier, quality of life is better, people live more simply, water/food is cleaner, outdoors culture, people respect their neighbors and family.. all in all, everything is better. My husband's family lives in the countryside there and we hope to be able to move there someday)
