Wayfair is another thing but yes, preposterously suspicious. The shortest logical path I've found is

Child trafficking exists
Child traffickers will want to communicate with each other but hide from the general public
Child traffickers will make mistakes that common people can notice

But this doesn't address the emotional resistance to the information...
