This is a National Science Foundation newsletter from 2009, it says Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation gave the NSF $50 Million. This is old news but $50 million goes a long way.

Thank you for finding that. So far it looks like Giraldo/Steinmetz are getting the mRNA into leafy greens. It could be trickier to get them through your digestive tract and into your blood stream intact. We had better keep an eye on those universities.
