People need to stop using 'stores', and start making web apps on the website, like gab does. This way you can never be denied from a closed ecosystem unless they want to ban webbrowsing.
Just tell me where I can download it. I android users dont need google
Google has to approve every app on the play store. They have an actual person conduct a manual review of both the app, and how you built the app. The play store is bypassable, of course, but not by the average user.
I am very aware of the requirements for the play store. But there are no requirements to side load the app right now. If there were a direct download millions of us could have it installed already. That's what I did for telegram.
White Hats have probably explained to Google executives... that them approving Truth Social for android phones... is a form of "health insurance".
Right! I was nervous reading that, but reminded myself they were probably not given a choice.
So that means.... never? LOL
so who do we send emails to to try to push this through faster ?
Google will deny an app publish for the most mundane reasons
source: android developer who has spent months in back and forths with google just to determine why my app doesnt live up to their documentation standards and therefore unable to be published (apparently certain notification channels require an Intent (action) to be associated with the notification, otherwise the app is un-publishable)
then the other thing that took months was just to determine that my WearOS design didnt mean specifications, because my toast was styled improperly
basically my point is that they have probably been trying to publish android this entire time. I guarantee you there is a team of people at Google doing the Truth social review instead of the normal 1 (every app publish has an actual google tester run through the app, and also look at your coding practice/api usage) just so they can nitpick and come up with bullshit to deny them, like "oh you used this api improperly, this exposes a vulnerability, so you need to do x, y, and z instead"
