I think you are correct, he evaded actual conviction, but there was enough proof of his funding of the nazis for him to get his ass thrown in prison, or shot. He probably bought his way out of that fate.

I hate to defend that scumbag,but their was nothing illegal with funding nazis,before the war. Ford and coke and many companies funded the nazis.....

There a lot of details to research. But, long story short, he got out of being prosecuted because he was an international, big-money, Skullz&B0nez, politi-rat, swamp creature.
