She's 15. When I told her the news this morning, she kept turning her head away from me, so that's what made me wonder if she wasn't agreeing with me that it was a good thing.
I cannot recommend this video enough. It's 5 minutes but brutally truthful testimony from a former abortionist Dr that turned against the practice and believes it should be outlawed.
my son who is now 19 has struggled with our values for the past 4 or 5 years. He has recently softened -- it helps that we moved to the midwest to atleast show him there are others who atleast find certain liberal values abhorrent.
do you think it is time for a heart to heart? have you ever had a conversation about her values? What she believes is true and why?
I have talked to her about it. My kids don't really state their beliefs a lot. I told her and my son how they brainwashed me as a child. They showed horrific movies when I was in elementary school about how horrible it used to be before women could get an abortion. And this was in the 70s when they showed us these movies. So I grew up pro-choice. Not that I would ever have an abortion, but that the women that needed it & were going to get it anyway, could get it safely.
Since I woke up to all the brainwashing in 2020, I finally realized what was going on. I talked to my children about it. They just sort of said yeah & left it at that. They're very passive about certain things. But the other morning, when she turned her head completely away from me when I talked, it made me think that she wasn't agreeing with me and that they've likely brainwashed her with all their rhetoric.
oh, I wonder if you can start big picture with them? "how do we know what is right, what is good, what is moral?"
I learned how messed up my son was on that front when he started spouting relative morality. Pretty damn hard pill to swallow given his knowledge of the evil some of his family has been on the receiving end of.
I have tried being both student and teacher as we move forward.... it's difficult but I think we've made progress as conflict has gone up and down.
