Way back in biblical times... Noah screened ALL of the animals boarding the Ark. He had 1-male and 1-female of each species, and checked them all to be sure.

However... he didn't pre-screen his own family members and their spouses. The gene defect slipped through.

That explains why there are gay people... but no gay mosquitoes.
