Malachi 3:16-18 The Faithful Remnant
16 Then those who feared the Lord talked with each other, and the Lord listened and heard. A scroll of remembrance was written in his presence concerning those who feared the Lord and honored his name.
17 “On the day when I act,” says the Lord Almighty, “they will be my treasured possession. I will spare them, just as a father has compassion and spares his son who serves him. 18 And you will again see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not.
That is how great the sacrifice was. He who knew no sin bore our sins for us on the cross. God's perfect love intersected with God's perfect justice. Jesus paid the price for our sins willingly and when you accept that you understand how great God's love for us is, how great the gift of salvation truly is. I don't know if you meant your reply in a good or bad way, but I will assume in a good way and I am so grateful that "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have eternal life". It is hard to believe forgiveness exists for some of the truly evil people that we read about continually, but it does and that in itself is almost beyond my comprehension, the love of God is so great beyond measure.
