I think of Musk as a wild card. I don't trust him, BUT he has been fucking the establishment pretty spectacularly, I do respect him in that regard. I'd say it comes down to how many rabbit holes someone has gone down that makes them believe if he's a white/black hat. He's had a shady past, and you don't become the world's richest person (in public view) without doing some extra shady crap.

In the simplest of terms, it's an "Enemy of my enemy is my friend" type situation for myself.
