Exactly. If Jesus comes to establish His Kingdom, that's that. We'll figure it out from there.
Until such time, we must challenge the precepts and preserve the Constitution. Even Jesus wasn't above hard evidence and proof. The Southern Baptists love to toss around "dOn'T bE a DoUbTiNg ThOmAs". Okay let's examine. Thomas, being the sane one said unless he could put his finger in the nail holes, the claims Jesus had Risen were all bunk. So what happens? Jesus appears, proves Himself by letting Thomas examine the wounds for himself and then He... Forgives him... gasp I know! He doesn't smote him for lack of faith He forgives Thomas... Interesting so Jesus isn't insecure nor is He above proving Himself contrary to the blind faith teachings of the church.
If Jesus wanted us to have a theocracy He would have left an instruction manual. Instead Rome remained intact for many years after He ascended, with the promise of retuning to establish the Kingdom then. Until such time, Christians are commanded to love their enemies, take care of the poor and a bunch other shit they conveniently ignore while pursuing material things and distractions.
Far be it from me to judge as I too enjoy such things. However a theocracy is not the answer. Even Jesus doesn't want to force the issue. In fact, He never did. The people came to hear Him, something most Christians forget. Of course it doesn't help that Christianity follows Paul's interpretation of Jesus and not so much the Man Himself.
