Many people point to either Gone With The Wind (“frankly my dear, I don’t give a d***”) or the use of the F-word in MASH in more modern times. I haven’t researched them enough to see how commie those movies were.
Came to say this. My grandmother told me how scandalous it was when that line was in the movie.
Edit: On tv, Bart Simpson saying “Eat my shorts” was pretty big. Just like males/fathers are now portrayed as buffoons, I think prior to that kids in tv were portrayed as smart alecs to parents with no repercussions and a nice laugh track to let us know it was funny instead of unacceptable. Slippery slope.
