Irrelevant. The Mothers Day you and I celebrate means nothing to them. They're fair game 24/7/365. In fact, this is a day that magnifies the dysfunction they should be called out for to begin with.

Agree with that completely. As such, if it means nothing then why mention it at all? Just call them out...you don't need an occasion to do that...which was really my point.

I see and accept your perspective. "Means nothing to them" isn't an entirely accurate way of putting it on my part. It means something, just not the same thing it means to you and I. That being the case, I like seeing them called out when their dysfunction is magnified and staring them in the face. I see and understand your concerns however. You aren't wrong in being concerned with the possible ramifications of that approach.
