It's rather narcissistic to think that anything that doesn't affect you (or any one person) then isn't important. Essentially everything is politics on some level, politics in the sense that there is working with others, some legal framework in life like the Constitution, work and companies are intertwined with politics on many levels, your garden is probably a political decision that you don't want to be reliant on corporate farms to get your vegetables and stuff. It seems really self centered that just because you don't deal with any certain thing in your life means it's unimportant and should be plain ignored by everyone else.
