Most of Europe has ancient catacombs like this. America probably has some in the very old, larger first cities settled here. I’ve always heard NYC has many layers. They kept building on top of streets. They had a working sewer system in the late 1800s, I think after the civil war. I read a book about building the Brooklyn bridge & the main character worked in the sewer system. I think it was fiction based on history. Sorry I don’t remember the name it’s been many years.
I didn’t know that about Kentucky. It’s a beautiful state. I’ve been once & didn’t get to see much. I’m in North Carolina & it’s usually not a day trip. We used to go to concerts a lot & that was one of our stops. I’m wondering if WV is the same. Much of the state is mountains.
Check out this ancient city in Turkey. There’s probably good videos on YouTube. I watched several years ago.
I don’t know if this is the same one. I remember it was a very large tribe that either traveled to several different underground cities or this was so big they could travel underground. I think the last option.
They were underground to avoid bandits or soldiers killing them. Now I’m curious and will do more research.
I think most ancient people did sacrifices. Not saying its right, but it’s what they learned from ancestors. It was all they knew. I don’t understand it because I think most people know the difference between wrong and right even if they aren’t religious.
I’ve watched enough historical documentaries and dramas to know the majority of people did some sick stuff!
If you didn’t watch Vikings TV series look up Viking pagan worship & witchcraft. I love viking history of the boats, fighting & traveling but thankful I wasn’t living back then. They were brutal!

I’m not very familiar with them. I’ll have to watch documentaries. I love history! Yes, Jesus is pretty amazing!
Same with Odessa
Anyone know the meaning behind the middle cross or compass like symbol in that chest?
It looks like a type of Chi-Rho christogram on the coffin.
Oh imagine that tunnels underground who would have thought! eats popcorn with sprinkles of sarcasm
