I vaguely remeber descriptions of ruling over several kingdoms, beloved by everyone, etc.

But I can't recall anything that confirms my question in any direction.

You have the “spirit of the anti-Christ” which is here and was here from the day the Jesus began His ministry. Satan does not know when the final showdown is. He is constantly raising up anti-christs. But THE anti-Christ is referred to as one man - referred to as he. = abomination of desolation, standing where it ought not be.
