I vaguely remeber descriptions of ruling over several kingdoms, beloved by everyone, etc.

But I can't recall anything that confirms my question in any direction.

Yes, the scripture "those who say they are jews but are not, and do lie," can also apply to these so called "christians." Rest assured, Jesus Christ despises those who lead others astray.
