To find out God's will you don't need special experiential revelation or guru books, do you? Start with the gospel of Mark and read wisely. I just read the beginning of Mark 3 to my kid last night and was struck by the critical point of the passage being made when the religious elite were attempting to entrap Jesus on the Sabbath knowing He loves to heal, and thus catch him in a "law breaking" act out of spite, jealousy, and murderous intent.
True religion vs false religion is clearly delineated. True religion is seeing God's joy in healing as a sign of his mercy and forgiveness, in having compassion on the weak and feeble (a common man with a withered hand in an agrarian society is unable to work for a living) when they can do nothing for themselves.
The religious leaders actually believed they inherited a system where it was illegal to do good to your fellow man on certain days (healing on the Sabbath). For all of their "torah wisdom", ritual, memorization of the scriptures, they could care less about God's mercy upon the sinner. This is one of the few times Jesus is angry, and its whenever he looks into the hearts of the religious authorities; so far gone they are blind to their own actions i.e. seeking to destroy their messiah.
So what is God's will? Simple. Believe in God and ask him for forgiveness for one's sins, trusting that he has promised to forgive all those who ask of him, and he will give life to the dead, sight to the blind, strength to the weak. And live a life of gratitude by treating our fellow humans compassionately and mercifully just like God has treated us. That's really all one needs. I'm not saying its easy, but its not complex or mysterious.
