The administration isn't blocking all oil and gas drilling in the state of Alaska and across the Gulf of Mexico. This only pertains to drilling on federal land. Any drilling going on on any other land in Alaska and the gulf can and will continue, including new drilling operations. Since the federal government owns those specific land, the government manages any leases for drilling or other natural resource or mineral extractions within those specific areas of land.
