I'm not a plane fag, but will answer questions as best as I can. I'd love to know what it was.

Could it have been one of these?

Yes, except it didn't say Navy. It didn't have any identifying marks. And it did seem to have extra antenae, especially near the tail.
When I looked up about the E-6 it said the paint is called "anti-flash white" and it's used to deflect heat from nuclear blasts. Maybe the plane had something to do with White Sands. But who knows?
That's interesting. Thanks for looking into it.
Why would a Navy ship used to communicate with subs be flying out of ABQ, in the middle of the desert, no water in sight?
I'm not saying it was an E-6 for sure but it's not unheard of for Navy aircraft to be spotted inland for various reasons. The E-6 aircrews train at Tinker AFB. But who knows?
