It gets worse when people try to make you pronounce it using the rules of the language it originated from. I'm like "Dude, I know French, but I'm not going to pronounce Grande Marnier as 'Grond MAR-nee-AIRRRRR" when I'm in the US."

That's good, because that would be wrong. You don't pronounce the last letter in almost any french word.
