When someone says the geo-tracking on 2000 Mules isn't real, ask them if they've ever played Pokemon Go.

The 2000 Mules take away. If you’re going to commit a crime, murder, theft, and or election steal, you best leave that got damn phone at home. I’ve already known this about the tracking ability of our cell phones. And if you don’t ever want to show up on someone’s radar you better be walking or using either a bike - or - a car made prior to 1997 and have zero modern day tech on your person during the time of the crime.
The small “uh oh” that I think dumb criminals won’t pay attention to in the doc is... even I can purchase data from resellers and data mine and become a amateur detective / vigilante and start solving crimes based on geo tracking data. Burner phones are not the answer for criminals either. Anything that has to connect to a cell tower to communicate can be traced. Just because you throw the device away doesn’t erase that devices geo tracking data/history.
Also I don't think you can get burner phones for cash without an id anymore. I might be wrong. My criminal days are long behind me.
That and or a credit card to activate. We bought a burner phone for our son who went to the Boy Scout National Jamboree the year Trump spoke. Just setting the phone up we had to jump through hoops. I’d be shocked if criminals went to such lengths. True, you can get a “cash card” Visa/MasterCard but the verification of setting up the phone itself was insane. I speculate this is done intentionally to discourage criminals from using them in the first place.
Yeah I thought I remembered hearing about these changes but wasn't sure. Thanks for the confirmation.
