My condolences to Randy Weavers family. RIP.
Here is a better account of Randy Weaver and the encounter with the following hold out. In the article, it states Randy Weaver was selling sawed-off shotguns to an ATF under-cover agent. However, the truth is it was an entrapment scheme in which the undercover ATF agent approached Weaver to shorten a shotgun barrel. Weaver accepted the offer and cut the barrels as requested.
Prior to the events leading up to a warrant being issued for his arrest, he and his wife had never so much as a speeding ticket. They were not going after a criminal. They were going after a family man that refused to become an informant.
Weaver was recruited to become an informant as a result of this entrapment, but did not want to be a "snitch". Had he agreed to participate, none of the Ruby Ridge atrocities would have happened. Randy Weaver was looking to support his family and normal people would understand financial hardship would lure someone like Weaver to look for opportunities to support his family. Weaver made $300 one 2 old shotguns!!!!...... The military armed response by the feds was pitifull. They opened fire on his sons and dog killing his son and the family dog. This was murder and they should be prosecuted for murder which did not happened.
The forces at the federal level that went after this Weaver is unreal and clearly unwarranted. It all stems from a newspaper article written about Weaver back in his home town in Iowa. The author of that article lied about Weaver and the reasons why he and his wife left Iowa for the mountain west. The feds picked up on that article and decided they were going to keep a close eye on him.
