I've had a copy of the hard drive for almost two years because it was handed out by Steve Bannon to members of the media (I'm not in media FYI). It was curated to eliminate any graphic photos that were illegal to posses. I discovered back then that the emails did not contain any smoking gun evidence of a crime, but they were very useful as corroborative evidence. So the Rosetta Stone metaphor is an accurate description, and the emails will eventually be used in court to prosecute Joe and Hunter
I've been "in the water" of these for a day and it seems safe. Really as you say it mostly seems to be the connective tissue of the relationships Hunter and his family are involved in. People hitting him up for money, offering him money, asking him for favors, etc.
Word of warning: I did have to do some work to get the emails into a searchable format.
Early conclusions: Even when you make $70k a month, bills and scammers still seem to be a big part of your life. trumanproject.org is fucking creepy. Louis Freeh is fucking creepy. These worthless, hollow, broken people are all connected.
Oh and how dumb do you have to feel to drop $50k on Sidwell and your kid still has to wear a mask and make "justice" posters like a poor?
How did you make them searchable? Most of the emails I have are in TXT format so reading them is messy. But I can search them using the OS explorer and I can also see the metadata like IP addresses.
Some of my conclusions:
The melodrama within the Biden family is not normal and seems partly fueled by drug addition among certain members and partly by Hunter's unusual relationship with his father.
Upper class elites, politicians, and executives are not smarter than most in the middle class.
Hunter was so lazy/stoned he didn't bother deleting junkmail which accounts for half of all the emails.
I don't think it was laziness on Hunters part. Mail systems usually keep junk mail for a while because the filters aren't perfect. Hence the expression: "did you check your spam?"
If you're on Windows you're outside my area of expertise. But if you're on Linux I can post my steps.
