No, we had Project Paperclip to appropriate the German military and scientific materiel, knowledge (documents), and expertise (personnel). Nazis per se did not need to be rescued. Essentially all adult Germans were Nazis; Party membership was obligatory. The problematic ones were elements of the SS involved in war crimes and crimes against humanity. The U.S. (Allen Dulles) allowed the SS elements in Ukraine to avoid war crimes prosecution, later giving rise to the Azov battalions of today.
