im not sure that I do, although i find the ideal of Jesus and the idea of a creator to be good and useful. But i dont think that should preclude me from hearing you out on the mission. Whats it about?
I grew up in a broken family as the daughter of a homeless alcoholic who had suffered a broken back and other things on the job that never healed and a quack doctor got him hooked on Qualude and Valium which when cut off, he had already turned in to full blown alcoholism. His sad journey broke my heart and I prayed for him for 25 yrs before he finally realized that God takes broken people as they are and they don’t need to he perfect. He finally gave his life to God just before a stroke which took away his decision making ability and then cancer. God used my dad’s journey to create a heart for others in bad situations.
that is rough but you are an amazing person to come through that and to be so selfless.
Because I asked Jesus into my heart and gave him my life when I was five years old, so despite my human tendency to he rebellious and wander off my own direction, God always convicted my heart and reeled me back in. I know there are so many kids and young people who went through and are going through so much more than I ever did (and there’s alot that I went through that I never mentioned to you) that need help and that is the calling God put on my heart, it is not me that is selfless, but God working in me and using me for His will as I asked Him to do.
It is going to be a residential Christian Camp in a mountainous working ranch/homestead setting to be called Camp Yesu which will rescue, rehabilitate, witness to about Christ, provide Christian education for elementary through college, tech school & apprenticeships for and teach outdoor and survival and homesteading skills to homeless, addicted, abused, trafficked, enslaved and orphaned young kids through mid twenties all over the US.
oh wow, that is a mission, and a much needed one at that. i can relate, being someone who is a addict and had a few addictions. Generally speaking, I don't believe addicts lose that addict side of them but we can make it useful. Well if it is in central texas I would certainly be interested in helping.
I still have to narrow down which property from my list, but I can tell you that it will he in the mountains on a working ranch/homestead on river and or lake. That is the vision God gave me. Since our main mission is to rescue and lead these kids to Christ and teach them the love of God, we will be seeking born again Bible following (not any denomination) Christians as board members and staff, so that we will be leading them in the right direction. Staff and board will also be taking part in regular Bible study and prayer meetings as well.
