From my experience on this board there is no room for research on the subject :rolls eyes:
I agree, but take heart.
Those of us who grew up with D&D and Fantasy Video Games understand the difference.
Everyone thinks anything that destroys is Dark Magic and anything that creates/heals is White Magic.
They further conflate destruction magic with Dark Magic.
This cannot be further from the truth. Destruction is a part of creation. In order to create you must take that which is and convert it from its original form. Chiseling a statue destroys the marble block. The marble block, in its original form, is gone forever, replaced with a new creation -- a child of the block and chisel.
Dark Magic is not destruction. Dark Magic is destroying when creation is called for and creating when destruction is called for.
A light switch isn't performing some great Evil when it is turned off. But, turning off a light switch when everyone is working with heavy machinery is Evil, because the act wrought countless bloodshed as people slip in the dark and maim themselves amongst the obscured machinery.
Evil is doing things out of form and fashion. It's handing a man a rock when he begs for bread, or a serpent when he begs for fish. The serpent and rock are no more evil or good than the fish or bread.
Evil is in the ACT done with intent to subvert the Will of God.
You're not the only one unafraid to discuss such things. There are a few of us knocking around.
