If I was planning to entrap Elon, I'd do it with a bogus, company-collapsing, controversy-ensaring timebomb. And likely this was discussed before they accepted the deal.

How to lay blame on Elon and ride away with golden parachutes.

But they likely cannot reverse it now, and that has them shuddering.
