I feel like everything is going to get a lot worse before it gets better.
Yeah, I don't think we're that close to the precipice.
6.19 in California
Its almost 7
...whoa Nelly....
Hasn't it been at or near that in Cali for a while now? Here in central KY it's ranging around 4.19-4.45 for 87 depending on where you go (higher in Louisville but cheaper out in smaller towns)
Gas just went over $4 a gallon this week in East TN.
...this is really hurting a lot of people...
...especially the young ones...
So. As I equate everything to the price of beer... If Beer were $6 dollars a gallon the price of a 30 pack would be $16.87. But depending on where you live, the bastards tax your beer plus make you pay a "deposit" on each can you buy of up to 10 cents each which adds another 3 dollars plus the tax to the price. Most people throw the cans away in the trash, but assuming you can get your "deposit" back somehow without having to stand in a line and put your cans in a dirty sticky noisy machine individually with an occasional "clunker" somehow not reaping a dime, we are approaching beer/gasoline parity. I remember when you could crush your cans and bring a bag to the recycle guy in the parking lot of the supermarket, who would give you a nice return based on weight. At the time, a trash bag of crushed cans would yield 20 bucks. WTF happened to that routine?????
5-5.50 near Olympia Washington. Filled up for 4.45 last week, drove by the same station today and its 4.99. Prices had stagnated for a month or two out here but wow it's going fast now. People around me I never thought would wake up are finally coming around.
...pain will train....
