I knew a guy that went to Moscow and didn’t run into one person who spoke English.

It would probably best if you learn Russian too, even if you could get by with English. Get yourself a beautiful Russian wife. Use your knowledge of English to get a remote US job and live a very high quality life where your salary goes 5x as far.
