In Texas, we pay $0 state or local taxes. NONE. Car tags are $65 per year, or about $5.40 per month. The state sales tax rate in Texas is 6.250%. With local taxes, the total sales tax rate is between 6.250% and 8.250%.
Property taxes are also low in most areas of Texas.

If you want to keep an extra 10% of your earned income, then move to one of the states that doesn't bleed you dry with taxes.
