God has spoken through the prophets in the OT. In Heb 1:1-2 it says " God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son."
In these last days, meaning the time of Christ up through the book of Rev, he spoke through His Son. God has completed His word and we now have it. Christians are to live by His Word. Col 3:16 " Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord"
Nobody receives words from God directly because Has given us the Bible. 2 Pet 1:3 says " His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,"
So if God's word says he has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness, what other words should He give? And if we need more words that pertain to life and godliness, what does that say about the Bible?

Really? Then why does Scripture tell us he does indeed continue to prophesy through his Prophets?
Acts.19
[6] And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
Acts.21
[9] And the same man had four daughters, virgins, which did prophesy.
Acts.21
[10] And as we tarried there many days, there came down from Judaea a certain prophet, named Agabus.

But sadly it appears false prophets drown out the true.
