My kid is ten and autistic. When he has a meltdown he hits. He desires to hurt. It’s a weird thing but to your point, maybe.

Yeah, I know, we’re working on it, much progress over four years on the matter. What used to last an hour now goes by in 3 minutes or so. Remaining calm is key, we had to learn that.
