If the root cause is broken families, why are broken families so prevalent?

It's simply a fact government social programs incentivizes them.

Kids whose families receive welfare can't even get jobs unless they're under the table, because the state will deduct anything they earn from their families' benefits.

Talk about incentivizing a lack of work ethic. Not many highschoolers are going to work just to turn over their entire paycheck to their parents? Dealing drugs just became that much more attractive as well.

Same goes for food stamps and other welfare programs. Single mothers have a much easier time of qualifying for benefits than married mothers do. There are many "single" mothers out there who wouldn't even think of marriage because their benefits would drop, possibly to nothing at all.
