Traveled out of the country with a group of people for a 4-day weekend. Per cdc and the resident in chief, US citizens must show proof of a negative Covid test prior to returning to the states. Three members of my party, myself included, failed the coof test and have been holed up in quarantine for the last 6 days. During that time I missed my civic duty by not being able to vote in the GA primary…had to watch corruption from afar. Have spent countless hours on GAW and others, just to pass the time. Fast forward to today when we were set to leave…nope. We are stuck for another 5 days despite being a-symptomatic, we are still testing positive. The doctor who did the testing asked the three of us if we had been vaccinated. One of us ( not me or the spouse) has been three times vaxed. When I told the doc that I preferred not to say, she said, “then I will take that as a no”. “If you had the vaccine you’d probably get out of here sooner.” In that moment I think I had what can only be described as an out of body experience. “Fuck you”, I said. “ you have no right to ask and have no way of knowing if what you said is true”. “Just ask my vaxed and boosted friend here”. “And don’t even get me started on the fucking PCR test you want to ram up my nose!” Yes, I completely lost my shit.
Rest assured frens…while masses of illegals cross our southern border to get cash and a free phone, exposing all who cross their path, my party is safely sheltering place because our government has banned us from returning home.
End of rant.
Really good advice. We did a saline rinse. Practically water boarded myself! I’m not worried about the next test. We get to leave on Wednesday even if we are still positive. Isn’t that rich?
Leave now.
Seriously, I feel like they are detaining you against your will. Isnt this illegal? (not that laws matter right now anyway, but you know what I mean)
Yes, unlawful detention is generally illegal in western countries. You ask "am I detained?" You ask, "under what charges?" You ask, "am I free to go?" You ask, "what are you going to do if I walk out that unlocked door?"
If you are able to leave, you are free to leave. Jails have locks. Detention involves handcuffs. Everything else is voluntary.
Talking about options as I write this. Thanks friend.
Sure. Makes perfect sense! 😉
I had to test last year to get into MDAnderson. Positive result. I had to wait over a month for a new appointment but no new test. I have been back twice with no test at all. The first visit they advised vaccination. I said you have already proven I have had COVID so no vaccination. They have not asked or advised again.
Glad it was you fren (also not glad, you know what i mean). If they said that last part to me I'd be going to jail not home, for punching the doc's lights out....or worse.
