What about the students that took the loans reluctantly and diligently paid them off? I sacrificed to make sure the payments went through.

Yep! Us too! I forgot that I had some to pay off myself a long time ago!

I also went into the Air Force my junior year in order to pay for my senior year and avoid more loans. It was a special program to recruit engineers for all of the weapons programs Reagan was starting.
