I am a veteran,and I appreciate the recognition,but memorial day is for our friends who didn't get home.Place flags,flowers or a red ribbon looped and placed over a corner of the grave stone.What makes me feel best is seeing my people respect our dead.Again thank you for your thoughts.
I believe there’s going to be a day of reckoning for your service! Most Americans don’t appreciate the freedoms they have because it’s never been taken away. I’ve never served and the only one in my family was my Papa was injured in the Coast Guard in the early 1940s. He was discharged after being hit in the head on the ship. I don’t know your personal sacrifice’s. I do respect everything you have been through & your losses. I pray this country gets back to the one I knew as kid in the 70s. God Bless each of you and your families🛐
I know what Memorial Day is about. I’m sure someone knows someone that didn’t make it home. The other day we were test driving a car. The salesman was telling us half the people that went to Afghanistan didn’t come home. I can’t imagine going through this.
I believe what 031174 is saying is please don't water down this important remembrance by including anyone who didn't die in service for this country. There are other times that are more appropriate for that.

As I am still alive, please thank me in November. This holiday are for those who did not make it home alive.
