So I assume the Holy Spirit holds no sway over you? If that's the case, then I'll keep you in my prayers. To compare an apostle of Christ to Joseph Smith or Thomas Jefferson is a mistake. You have your doubts if Jesus didn't say it. If that's the case then how can you be sure that the words of Jesus as transcribed by mere men are accurate? Faith in the inerrency of the Bible is a must, otherwise you're just making it up as you go along by picking and choosing what is convenient for you. This leads to false religion and I think we all know where that leads.
