This assumes government, liberals, and people who like to screw others over are not going to declare anyone considered an enemy as mentally unstable. Like Red Flag laws, this is a trap. A man is either free or he is not. There cannot be any apprenticeship for freedom.

The remedy is to repeal all infringements on the right to bear arms. If everyone that chooses to be armed is armed, "mass shootings" will mostly disappear. Anyone using a weapon to commit a crime or atrocity would meet deadly resistance in mere seconds in an armed society.

Those with true mental illness issues should get the proper help and treatment, but should never have their right to bear arms taken. If so, please cite the authority where government or anyone else has the legitimate authority to take rights away. Rights conferred upon them by their Creator.
