I just limit how many I follow and don't get into the numbers stuff of followers. Just pick maybe 10 main, informative, key peple to follow and you'll only get the main meal. I do this with Telegram too. I follow 20 people and keep updated through them. I don't have time to wade through it all either, and I save all my posting for here.
