I was thinking that this entire act (of the cops trying to hold the parents back) was in response to their previous error at Sandy Hook where they didn't stage any parents trying to get in. So to make this one look more real, they included this act.
And why would she rescue only her two kids? They can’t have been the only two children in the room in which they were found. Wouldn’t someone that rushes in to rescue his or her own children herd all the other children in the room to safety as well? Help them out a window or nearest exit and tell them to run like hell?
