Gun control is killing thousands of ADULTS too, of course (check any Democrat-controlled metro area). Yet conservatives continue to be defensive about the Second Amendment, when they SHOULD be righteously and CORRECTLY accusing the Left and our anti-gun politicians for pushing policies that get people killed every day.
It's a simple fact that ARMED CITIZENS can defend themselves in situations where DISARMED citizens cannot. If guns were not effective at protecting us from violent criminals, POLITICIANS would not have guns (both personally in many cases and in the form of armed security guards). This is also why Gun Free Zones are death traps instead of safe havens.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, almost every major study on defensive gun use has found that Americans use their firearms defensively between 500,000 and 3 million times each year. There’s good reason to believe that most defensive gun uses are never reported to law enforcement, much less picked up by local or national media outlets.
We need to stop letting the authoritarians and tyrants get away with accusing us of causing firearm deaths by our support of the basic human right of effective self-defense. This right is why the Second Amendment was added to the Constitution, and why it is so high on the list of those Amendments.

I think the ignorant masses believe that security personnel are better trained and are therefore more qualified to carry a firearm. They don't realize how much time some of us spend learning how to handle our firearms.
We could overcome this confusion with a bit of community outreach. I propose "Take a Liberal Shooting" day. I'm joking a bit, but it would be beneficial if the city people could spend some time with us simple country folk. They could also use a lesson or two in where their food comes from.
That's actually a solid idea; I have seen several reports over the years of libs opening their eyes to the reality that guns aren't supernatural evils but rather tools that often save lives, after their first trip to the gun range.
