I had a 4.0 GPA and an elementary ed certificate. My ex wife's district was hiring. I never heard word one about my application but a black girl who was student teaching with my ex got actively recruited to the point she was encouraged to retake her PRAXIS test bc she had failed Elementary Math PRAXIS 5 times and needed it to teach. Ex wife saw the email to her that they were looking for "more diversity" in the district.

I don't teach anymore. And FYI, elementary math PRAXIS is a standardized mult choice computer based test that, you guessed it, covers everything you should know with up to a 5th grade education.
