A Navy LT who was an officer for 22 years?
Probably a mustang that served 22. These alt news sources often have terrible writers.
What's meant by 'mustang'?
Someone who starts their career as an enlisted sailor and later becomes an officer. Generally, these officers are better leaders and have more respect from their men. It's like if a welder moves up and becomes a manager vs. Owners son gets a manager job
Ah, that makes sense. So in terms of ability, a 40 year old lieutenant is a better leader than a 21 year old? Just in very general terms.
