In Canada, wife got fired from a nursing home for refusing the jab, they desperately want her to get it so she can come back. Not gonna happen, but the residents suffer for it too.
Some of the people in nursing homes would quickly realize how able-bodied they were the moment no one was there to actually help them through everything. Others.. they need it.. I feel bad for them.
Cuomo enters the chat - did anyone say nursing homes?
Let's face it. Care of the elderly has progressively deteriorated over the past 30+ years.
If you're wealthy, very wealthy, no sweat. You can pay the price, a hefty price, for awesome care in beautiful total care facilities throughout the USA. You can easily get in as long as you have the $$$$. You can start out in "Independent Living," where you have a beautiful cottage or a condo. Included is healthcare, meals, happy hours, walking paths, activities...you name it, all for a hefty price. Then, sooner or later, you advance to the next level - Assisted Living, and from there you wind up in Total Care. Not too shabby of a way to end your life. After you're dead and buried, the selfish grown children, who more often than not hate one another, trash all the keepsakes and fight over any money that's left.
The rest of us have the pleasure of residing in below average to atrocious nursing homes...proper term these days is ECF (Extended Care Facility). The nursing care has been far from adequate for 30+ years in the majority of these places, and they have ALWAYS been short staffed. Now, it is worse than ever. Medical care in general is worse than ever. With or without CoVID, the quality of care whether it be in an acute care hospital or an ECF has been in decline (as stated for the 3rd time) for 30+ years. The CoVID LAME excuse has made it worse.
Unless you TRULY need emergent care, try to STAY away from hospitals. Also, designate an advocate...someone who you trust and has a good head on their shoulder. Now, more than ever, it's time to focus on health and how to improve it with simple lifestyle changes. It's only going to get worse. Lastly, take care of your elderly loved ones. Do your very best not to abandon them. Get extended family and close friends involved. ASK for help. If a nursing home is the only option, as it often can be, visit them and let them know that you care. It could be any one of us in that nursing home someday.
Small town of Taos...couldn't find a convenience store open this evening... "staff shortage"...and at least half the restaurants closed for the same reason. No workers. Pays better to stay home.
Where are all the workers? How are people affording to live in all this inflation if they aren't working? Are people just dying off or something??
I cant figure it out either...it’s like poof, the workers have all disappeared. I figured once they stopped the free money they would all have no choice and go back to work, but it seems to be getting worse. Are they dying from the shots and no one reporting on it. We know the funeral homes are busy, but that is for people who can afford to pay for a funeral. With prices through the roof how are they able to survive. Is the Govt giving out free money I don’t know about?
Isn't there still unemployment and some free money out there....I haven't been followng it.
Young adults haven’t had to work since student loans were suspended. No reason to get a job.
Food still costs money. Housing still costs money. Power cost money. Gas costs money. Data plans and internet access for playstations costs money. Cars cost money. Insurance costs money. Clothes cost money. How do they live without jobs to pay for it all??
Living off parents or government assistance.
Death rate is projected to increase, hmmmm i wonder why https://www.macrotrends.net/countries/USA/united-states/death-rate
might as well close as the ones I have seen have employees following a very flawed and unhealthy protocall
Who could have foreseen this...
kek
I don't doubt it. So what else is new?
My cat got hit by a car and survived. I took him to the vet and they told me I should just put him down there’s no way he’ll have a good life and he’ll be in pain. I got a second opinion and he said he should be able to recover without surgery and just walk it off. It’s been two weeks and he’s already back outside killing everything he can find and living life like nothing happened, except now he walks like a pimp.
Hmmm.....that's funny. That song Stray Cats comes to mind with the pimp walk. Haha.
