Just thinking tonight, why wasn't I one of the ones who fell for the BS shot? My whole family are Christians, but every single one of them fell for it.
Why did God give me discernment and not them? Is there some sort of purpose behind this?
Wondering if anyone has some sort of commentary towards this, because I definitely do not feel worthy or special in any way. In fact, they are way better people than I am.
Who knows. This war is fascinating and all I can do is trust in God. Because I sure as hell do not trust anything else anymore.
You have a really depraved view, the Bible is written by men inspired by God, therefore it is written by God. People use the Bible in the wrong ways for many years, so an example of someone appropriating things from the Bible does not dictate its meaning, rather their interpretation. To understand that you are not of your own abilities, able to be made right with God is key. Jesus Christ pays that penalty, but that’s not all, he also imputes his righteousness unto those whom he saves. It is not enough for someone to give you a clean slate, it must be a perfect slate. Job was used by God for the very purpose of his example in that book. It gives insight into the power of Satan, the power of God, and how to respond in trial and tribulation. We are not to speak to God as though he asked us our opinion when making humans, his ways are above our ways. Consider this, if your parents gave you everything you wanted, would that make you a spoiled brat or a well behaved child who becomes useful in society. God is a father, not a grandfather. He puts us in different places in life for our own potential benefit. If you choose evil over good in times of difficulty, then you have turned your back on God, why should he save you then? If he does, that is much great mercy, if he doesn’t, his perfect justice does what is required, so either way, God is glorified and his name is magnified in either justly condemning or unjustly, saving people from wrath.
Job is a great book. One of my favorites.
